Schenectady County is currently recruiting for COMPUTER SOFTWARE SUPPORT ASSISTANT.
This position is responsible for the installation of computer desktop software and the training of County employees in the use and function. The position is also responsible for implementing cyber security policies as they pertain to workstation configurations. Candidate should have a working knowledge of the use and operation of computers, PC’s, workstation software and information services terminology.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a Civil Service tested position and all candidates must pass a Civil Service Examination when exam is next offered.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications to be considered:
A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two-year college with an associate’s degree in Computer Science or Cyber Security field of study; OR
B. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and ten (10) credit hours in a Computer Science or Cyber Security field of study at a New York State accredited institution and one (1) year of customer service related experience.
